Andrea: "Mom! Mom! There's Tom Thumb! (grocery store) Can we go? Please?"
Lacie: "No, Andrea. We don't have any money."
Andrea: "We don't? ... Does that mean we are ... poor?"
Lacie: somberly "Yes. We are poor."
